Muzzi’s extraordinary timeline began in 1975 with a diploma in nursing associated with Tuft’s University. Five decades of healthcare dedication has shaped her compassionate perspective. She pioneered massage therapy insurance billing in Maine during the early 1990s. Her groundbreaking advocacy transformed residential care when she approached DHHS/OADS in 2001 with Parents as Providers. This initiative has since helped many parents become providers for adult children with intellectual/developmental disabilities.Muzzi graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Southern Maine in 1995. She established ASIS,(AUTISM, Senses, Integrated, Spiritually)a nonprofit organization supporting her daughter with AUTISM in 2000. Muzzi’s healing story is presented in Dr. Christiane Northrup’s bestseller “Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom.”
Out of Muzzi’s experiences in nursing, massage therapy, trauma recovery, and advocacy for people with disabilities, Muzzi’s writing has a heartbeat that is all her own. She combines allopathic medicine with natural healing approaches. Her storytelling shares how to find joy in the midst of challenging circumstances. Each narrative reflects decades of helping families navigate AUTISM Spectrum Disorders, Parkinson’s Disorder and Developmental challenges. Muzzi believes that humor opens learning pathways. As an author, she transforms professional expertise into engaging tales that inspire positive attitudes, celebrate our innate wisdom and bring smiles to our faces.
She lives quietly in southwestern Maine below her daughter, husband and 2 grandchildren on 2 stunning acres of land. In her sparetime, she is learning the cello and French; creating votive candle holders from birch bark and vintage jewelry, earrings from fish lures, reading and writing.
The foundation for her joy and gratitude is the lasting connection to Sahaja Yoga meditation, her family and 4 lovely grandchildren, who inspire her to do more every day.
When I’m not writing, you can find me exploring quaint bookstores, sipping tea by the window, or traveling to seek new inspirations. These everyday moments shape the stories I create.
